These joints will be the strongest joints you’ll ever make! Using our Exclusive Lock Miter Joint. Simply follow the directions to create a great looking and a perfectly square column. You may glue, pin or nail in place and all corners will be perfectly square. Gluing alone will provide a very strong bond due to the increased area of the miter joint.

A Step by Step guide

1)First the light fixture must be removed

2)Remove stucco on ceiling using a spray bottle with water; use a spatula to remove wet stucco to the approximate diameter of the ceiling medallion.

3)Apply any good quality construction adhesive to the back of the ceiling center

4)Apply ceiling center to the ceiling making sure that the hole for the fixture is perfectly centered.

5)In order to hold the ceiling medallion in place while the adhesive dries, use a couple of small nails around the edge. In the case of large ceiling medallions use four or more drywall screws. Simple cover with dap caulking afterwards. (more…)

All machinery used to machine wood will become more efficient when used properly. When it comes to making clean, glass like cuts, a sharp chopsaw blade is in order. As seen in the illustration above, with a sharp cut, there no sanding required. Seams are truly seamless. Three things contribute to a seamless joint:

Back bracing the cornice for a tight fit (as describe earlier)

Cut at a 30-degree angle to increase the surface area, 45 degrees would be too sharp a corner and flake off leaving a gagged edge. (more…)
