How to select the proper size ceiling medallion?
To select the proper size ceiling medallion, consider 3 factors -
1) The size of your fixture - Medallions should be larger or smaller
than the diameter of your fixture, but preferrably not the same size.
2) The height of the ceiling - The higher your ceiling, the larger
the medallion that you can use. For example, a two story foyer
can easily use a 35 - 37″ medallion, due to the ceiling height.
3) The size of the room - The larger your room, the larger the medallion that you can use. For a typical Dining Room with an 8 - 9 foot ceiling, a medallion that is 26 - 32 inches in diameter will usually work well.
